you got shocks...peds...LUCKY!

dennis and i went to houston and galveston this weekend. it was a relaxing weekend. just busy enough, but just relaxing enough too. lots of highlights to this weekend. eating great food at red onion cafe, drinking awesome wine at agora, yummy lunch at onion creek cafe (i had the country ass reuben..yum!), and then a really relaxing evening at a beach house in galveston. i think that evening was my favorite part of the weekend. got to drink really good wine called relax (it's an awesome riesling) and chat with dennis while listening to the radio and just enjoying the peace of being away from everything. we ate way too much food at landry's last night too which was awesome.

today we goofed around the strand in galveston. hung out at a cool coffee shop and played scrabble. i kicked dennis' ass with a 53 point word. yes! sweet!

then we took a trip on the galveston ferry (no, not fairy). it was fun and windy and cold and dennis loved it more than i really understand. i'm glad he had fun though. it has been so great having him here this week. i'm going to miss his stinky ass after tuesday.

now..time for some napoleon dynamite and some sleep.

doorknob ankle cold

yeah, i'm a little bit tipsy. that happens with you drink beer and wine with a priest...or just drink beer and wine with anyone probably. i thought it would be a good idea to post a tipsy kate message. i'm a little more tipsy than i would usual be at this point because i'm a touch sleep deprived.

i've been having a great time with dennis in town. he's so hilarious. i'm pretty sure earlier tonight we were talking about pea poop or something like that. email me and i can explain...if you dare.

uh...so what else? um, just chillin' and feeling happy that i have such awesome and hilarious friends. also, i have onion breath from the sandwich i had earlier.

this week has raised a lot of interesting questions:
1. is "cookie biter" a derogatory phrase?
2. can my hair get greyer?
3. why do you work really hard to poop sometimes and then it's just a tiny little poop and you feel like you used every muscle in your body to get that bitch out (that was dennis' question actually)
4. why is it 70 degres one day in texas and 45 degrees and rainy the next? wtf?!
5. why am i still in school? why do i always have senioritist "i'm sick of reading shit" attitude in the spring but not in the fall?

that's enough questions. time for nightly shower (i'm a night showerer now. it's buck wild) and to get some sleep.

check out the link posted up there thanks to a sexy nerd who saved it. it makes me laugh and stuff, as does said sexy nerd. aww yeah.

:)

diet cherry vanilla guava kiwi strawberry lemon donut dr. pepper

i haven't posted in a while. i've been busy though so screw off. :) just kidding faithful reader(s?). i turned 29 (*gasp*), got sick, pretty much settled into my new room (only to decide to move to the one down the hall in a week or so), got less sick, visited a friend in houston, and then went to visit mikepants in albuquerque. got back yesterday and worked and then went to pick up one of my oldest and best friends': father flatulence...i mean dennis. i've known dennis since i had a huge crush on him in early morning band gym class (yes, band geeks in our high school had their own gym class...probably so we wouldn't get our asses beat playing floor hockey by the 'jocks' or have them shove our tubas up places where tubas don't belong). now i no longer have a crush on dennis (he's a priest and like my brother! god! IDIOTS! that was ala napoleon dynamite for those of you not in the cult following yet. get 'er done!) but he's still one of my closest peeps. he's also the most hilarious priest i know. i'm pretty sure he asked me if i was foaming at the ass earlier today (it was rabies related...no, i don't have rabies). he also inspired the subject line above when i offered him a diet cherry vanilla dr. pepper. and now he's telling me about the minute and a half long fart he just ripped in my bathroom (even more reason to move to the room down the hall and have my own bathroom that has not been tainted by dennis and his potent ass). he's here visiting me for a week which is so cool! we're going to f--- around college station this week (if you know of fun things to do let me know) and then go to houston and galveston this weekend. should be good times.

peace out ya'll guys.

kate is old(e)...the extra e makes it older

so, my birthday was yesterday and now i'm 29, my last year of my 20s. one of my friends gave me crap the other day and said something like: "29? shouldn't you be married and have kids and have a career by now." no, i didn't kick him in the nuts, but i used to think that i would have all that stuff by this age. i have to say though, that i'm pretty happy with the choices i've made so far and the places i've gone. in a few years (hopefully two) i'll have my ph.d. which is a great accomplishment. and like my mom tells me all the time, everything has a way of working out...including all that family, marriage, career stuff. so even though i'm a year older now and not exactly where i thought i'd be, i can't complain too much at all. :) i have great friends, a wonderful family, an assistantship i really like, and i'm getting close to finishing a major goal of mine.

thanks for all the thoughts and warm wishes for the b'day yesterday. *hugs*

happy 2005

hi cool cats. so, it's 2005. hope you all had a happy new year and all that stuff. i had a great time hanging out with mike and his family. we went to the cotton bowl game which was icky bad. the company was great, the game gave me indigestion. literally.

not a lot of excitement going down around here. just packing up the last of my stuff and wondering how on earth it will all fit in the townhouse. and i'm still trying to find a good home for niles. any takers? anyone? buehler?

apparently my birthday is thursday and i will be turning 29. i might have to turn 29 in 2006 too. :) might need a few 29s.
